Carolynn Lorimer
Carolynn qualified in 2003 and started her nursing career on a tertiary respiratory ward at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. She soon realised she had a passion for respiratory nursing and went on to develop her studies in this area completing various respiratory courses through education for health, Manchester University and University of Leicester.
In 2006 she was appointed as a Respiratory Nurse Specialist at RMCH. She was actively involved with various research studies and the initial roll out using biologics for paediatric asthma, working with Novartis. Her main interests are difficult asthma, bronchiectasis and LTV. In 2010 she moved to the south coast and joined the respiratory team and critical care team at The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, in Brighton. She was at this point able to become more involved with critical care, LTV and NIV.
She now works as a respiratory CNS at the trust and leads her own nurse run asthma clinics, support education in the trust, and is actively involved with research. She also supports the paediatric allergy clinic. She feels being a member of the NPRANG committee is an opportunity to network within this field and be part of a driving force to ensure high quality care is being delivered.
